WEEKEND REVIEW: MR NIGERIA 2014 FINALS
Hey movie lovers, how was the weekend?hope you all enjoyed it.anyways welcoe back to Monday. Did i hear you say "thank God its monday"? lols.
anyways, let me take you through the various shows that featured at the weekends.
lets start with the silverbird Mr Nigeria finals that was aired exclusively live from the eko hotels and suites Lagos live on silverbird television on Saturday night.
THE SILVERBIRD MR NIGERIA
Well,if you've been following the show, you may like it(that's if you are not me).
the show is basically a male beauty pageant put in place by the organizers of the MBGN.
To me the main difference between the show and the MBGN is that it involves young men with attractive biceps and 6 "pacs" stomachs.
well thumps up to silverbird for these.
THE HOST
Wow.how can i describe chioma and anita?they were just fabulous.they added fun, comedy and yes, flirtation to their roles as anchors.anita was especially fabulous in her role.and am tempted to add that she was as "natural" as obama would be when acting president in a hollywood production.lols.
am sure she would be labeled a flirt, which i don't agree wit, because in my view she acted a well suited role.thumps up to anita and chioma.
THE SHOW
Well, first the 20 contestants presented themselves to the audience in swim suits(to may dismay). After which they dressed in corporate outfits.after these 10 were screened out after which the remaining were asked simple question to test their intelligence(i wonder if those simple questions could test even the inteligence of a 5year old).
after these,5 were screened out followed by another round of simple questions.after which the winner was announced.
THE WINNER
Well, contestant number two Emmanuel Ikubese(who featured in the series SHUGA) came out as the winner.
CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Well, lets look at some things that could have been done better.
Lets start with the stage.its high time we start looking at ways to make our stages for shows unique atleast with a little effizy. and also the lighting wasnt realy as i expected.these was a male show and male naturally dont do it flashy when it comes to dressing and colours,so the stage director would have increased the lighting adding more flashy lights to complement the reserved male hue.
Also, pardon me adding, that the result was greatly influenced by the audience.i would like to think that the judges were scared of giving the award to someone that doesnt carry the support of the audience.
Emmanuel enjoyed a huge fan base in the audience(his family members just couldnt keep quite) and hence the award.Am not saying that the judge were bias or something.am jus saying that the audience played a larger role in the award than it should.for the fact that they are judges, the audience role should have been minimized..(just saying).
Anyways, you are free to disagree.just comment what you think or feel.thanks and welcome to the new week.
